Workshop on Sustainable Development for Coastal Areas in the Arabian Gulf

Under the Patronage of his H.E. Eng. Essam Bin Abdulla Khalaf Minister of works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Kingdom of Bahrain, The Bahrain Society of Engineers is organizing a one-day workshop on “Sustainable Development for Coastal Areas in the Arabian Gulf on the 11th May 2015.

Mr. Masoud Al-Hermi, President of Bahrain Society of Engineers stated that three prominent regional and international experts will present important reviews and recommendations on the pertaining issues. The first part of the workshop will be presented by Prof. Dr. Kosta Mathey director of the Global Urban Studies Institute of at International Academy in Berlin under the title “Global Determinants And Opportunities to The Development of Coastal Areas in The Gulf Region. The second part will be presented by Eng Nayef Omar AlKalali, former Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works and the regional expert in coastal Engineering and planning and entitled "Coastal Development Projects in the Arabian Gulf-best practices and the most important lessons learned”. The third part will be presented by, Dr. Gareth Doherty lecturer in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University, and entitled "Ecological Urbanism: Case Studies in Sustainable Coastal Development”
